It’s a pain both literally and figuratively
Trouble was brewing. I was sure of it. But, no, I dismissed it as paranoia.
I should have known better…
It’s been a funny old week, put it that way. My uneasy feeling started on Monday, when I was forced to take the day off, after working all weekend on my website. It felt like a strange start to the week.
Tuesday, though, was wonderful. You all know how much fun I had at my guest spot at a book club! (You don’t? To find out, click here)
Then Wednesday hit. And so did my pesky, recurring problem: shingles. I get it about twice a year, and it’s a pain both literally and figuratively. There is so much to do, and it’s hard to push through when even getting dressed seems ambitious. This is where I am very lucky, though; working from home means that I can get away with spending a LOT of time in pyjamas and still get some work done. A good job, too, as I had to write up my latest reviews for Chat’s Inside Crime. In other words, do my bit to feed fellow authors J (joking aside, reviews really DO help to feed authors. They make a huge difference to the way Amazon treats books – for example, until a book hits a certain amount, it won’t be included in the ‘recommendations for you’ section).
If you want to read those reviews, though, you’ll have to be patient, as the mag doesn’t hit the news stands until 28 April.
Yesterday was another high, though. I started pulling together an exciting new section for this blog, that I’m desperate to share with you. I can’t say too much right now, but I WILL say that it’s going to be called Blood Type. Watch this space!
So, despite the evil shingles bringing me down again, I have to say it’s been a great week. I hope you had a good one, too – and have a wonderful weekend x
